Drexel’s 2017 Cooperative Education Program – Matt McMillan.

Formcraft is fortunate to be a part of Drexel’s 2017 Cooperative Education Program and welcomes a student, Matt McMillan, who joins our company as a full-time Project Engineering Intern.
Matt McMillan is currently a Sophomore at Drexel University with an anticipated graduation date in Spring of 2020. Matt contracted into the Army Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) Program that requires him to commission into the U.S. Army as a 2nd Lieutenant upon graduation at Drexel. While Matt attends classes in the fall and winter at Drexel, he simultaneously focuses on training for the Army.
During the Spring and Summer at Drexel, Matt participates at Drexel’s Cooperative Education Program that provides professional employment experiences for students, and gives them the opportunity to “test-drive” a career before they enter the workforce.
At Formcraft, Matt works directly with Technical Managers in the Pre-Construction Department. Matt’s responsibilities include:
· Perform project quantity takeoffs
· Prepare Request for Quote lists
· Prepare bid packages
· Create scopes of work
· Obtain bids from subcontractors and material vendors
· Create preliminary project schedules
“My favorite part is getting to break down drawings and work as a member of a fully integrated team to achieve the custumers’ desires and needs” – Matt McMillan.
Matt plans to stay with Formcraft for the next 6 months, learn best industry practices, build a professional network and develop his technical skills.
“Formcraft is pioneering the project delivery system. An integrated team of architects, interior designers and construction professionals is what separates us from the competition. The way we do it today, is the way others will do it tomorrow” – Matt McMillan.
