As a growing company, Artesian Water, located in Newark, Delaware wanted to renovate their office space.

Artesian Water is a water utility company that has been excelling in the industry for over a century, providing water services throughout Delaware. Their overarching goal was to address the layout and flow of the space to best fit the needs for continued growth and the highest employee efficiency. An expanded customer service area created a more open plan that let more daylight into the office. Improved circulation and reception design allowed for better and safer accessibility for both employees and visitors which included the addition of restrooms specifically for customer use.

Artesian Water’s corporate space was updated to match the level at which they conduct providing quality water and quality customer service. Throughout the workplace strategy and design process, it was clear that this office needed to be a space where employees would thrive and where collaboration would be encouraged. The break room became a central feature in the open office and a large collaboration area was included. It was also important to refresh and add organization into their mailroom. Another pivotal plan update was that the conference room became larger to include more windows and natural light. Additional architectural services extended out to the exterior in order to create an ADA accessible entrance. Similarly, to most projects, a few construction and building issues had to be resolved once in the field. Tackling these challenges like uneven floor levels and creating new window cuts to match the existing with meticulous attention to detail elevated the quality of the project to a new degree.

From design conception to finish selection and then construction, Artesian is very pleased with their new workspace and excited that the final result met all the project goals and timelines. The space is now equipped with efficient lighting, glass office fronts, and refreshed restrooms where employees can continue to offer the best to their customers. The materials and colors throughout the office are drawn from Artesian’s logo and branding which also reflect water. After a temporary move into trailers for Artesian employees during the construction, they now have a bright and open office to move into and grow with.
