Engineered for Success: SEW-EURODRIVE’s Modernized Workplace

Bridgeport, NJ
SEW-EURODRIVE desired a modern, energizing workspace that would reflect their brand and culture. Formcraft delivered a vibrant new workplace to help improve workflow, attract and retain top talent, and facilitate collaboration and connection.
  • Project scope covered a new reception lobby, training room, open workspace, and multiple amenity areas.
  • Formcraft retained much of the original layout, allowing more budget to be invested in technology and innovative design touches.
  • The new design improves workflow, enhances collaboration and productivity, and supports SEW’s customer-facing training programs.

Scope of Work
Formcraft designed and built a new reception lobby, training room, open workspace area, and additional spaces including a fitness room, focus rooms, private offices and restrooms. By retaining much of the original layout, Formcraft was able to stretch the SEW-EURODRIVE’S budget and invest more into technology and innovative design touches. New furniture, finishes and technology were added to modernize the space and meet the needs of their workforce. The result is a dramatically transformed environment that is both functional and inviting.

Design and Branding
The design took inspiration from the SEW-EURODRIVE’S brand colors, with bright reds offset by cool grey tones. Modern, industrial-style finishes were selected to reflect the high-tech nature of their work in the automotive industry, complemented with metal surfaces and accents. One stunning feature is a red corrugated metal wall with a quote from their founder that creates an energizing backdrop for the new training room.

Meeting Flexibility Goals
One of SEW-EURODRIVE’s goals was to accommodate employee training and their customer-facing DriveAcademy® training program. Their new training space is equipped with state-of-the-art technology for presentations, group collaboration, and learning. Space along the back wall was left open to park demo carts for use during trainings.

The new open workspace area was designed to enhance productivity, with comfortable and flexible workstations with height-adjustable desks and space for multiple monitors. Translucent glass partitions allow light through while providing a sense of privacy.

The newly modernized workspace reflects SEW-EURODRIVE’s collaborative work culture by serving as a space where people are excited to come work, engage and connect. SEW-EURODRIVE now has a cohesive, branded space with functional, up-to-date furniture and finishings designed to meet the needs of workers for years to come.
